WElcome CARE BOARD MEMBERS and guests
Dear Colleagues,
I am delighted you are participating in the CARE Board trip to Jordan and the West Bank, June 24- 29, 2018. I hope this visit will give you the chance to experience our life changing work in Jordan and the West Bank, from visiting refugee camps and homes of Syrian refugees, to seeing some of our innovative programming for women’s economic empowerment at work. Visits to the field are an invaluable way to grasp how critical our vision and mission are- and to provide a firsthand look at the inspirational people we work with.
You will travel with CARE Board members, spouses, children, guests, executive management and staff from CARE USA, CARE Jordan, CARE Syria, CARE West Bank & Gaza, and the MENA Regional Management Unit. I hope that we can use this wonderful opportunity to learn together about the many ways we can help address poverty and advance social justice; and that we return inspired and motivated.
I look forward to seeing you on our trip.

President & CEO, CARE

Dear CARE USA Board members and guests,
Welcome to Jordan! We are very excited to share with you our programs and to offer the framework for your important discussions during the week of June 24-29, 2018, in Jordan.
In Jordan, CARE leads humanitarian protection, economic empowerment, and civic engagement interventions for women and girls from poor and vulnerable communities in the fight to overcome poverty, gender-based violence, and social injustice. We hope that this visit can contribute to better understanding of the Humanitarian and Long-Term Development Work done in Jordan, and an opportunity to see first-hand CARE's work, to inspire, motivate and inform, and also to see some of CARE Jordan Innovation programming including but not limited to cash for education and protection, economic empowerment, and the program in Azraq Camp for Syrian refugees.
Salam Kanaan
Country Director, Jordan

Dear CARE USA Board members and guests,
Ahlan wa Sahlan to Palestine! The team here looks forward to welcoming you from 24-27 June, to sharing with you our work and to learning from your diverse experience and perspectives.
CARE’s work in the West Bank and Gaza addresses urgent humanitarian issues in health and focuses on women’s economic empowerment to strengthen livelihoods and markets disrupted by conflict. CARE provides humanitarian support to families and communities that suffer recurring shocks while also rebuilding their capacity to recover and to rebuild their own longer term livelihoods. We hope that our CO’s successes and challenges help to inform your strategic discussions.
Rene Celaya
Country Director, West Bank & Gaza
